Hard To Swallow
Acrylic on canvas
The only newer piece up right now, so I think I like this one the most. This is the direction my paintings are going right now.

Answer to someon'e question:

I paint primarily in Acrylic, but i really enjoy oil for some things and do it when I can.
With Acrylic, i can do layering, broken and uneven color effects, and drybrush technique which i can't do in oil. With acrylic, i can be more spontaneous, work quickly and paint over mistakes immediatly unlike oil.

With Acrylic, i can do glazing/ transparent effects just like oil. I use the "Retarder" medium which SLOWS the drying time to give you more time for smooth blending.

But, Acrylic has properties that make it a unique medium in itself .

With Acrylic you can work on almost ANY surface if prepared properly with a Ground like Gesso. I brush my Gesso down to cover up the painting surface. This is to decrease absorbancy of the board, paper, or canvas. If i like the brushstrokes of the bristle brush when the paint dries, i leave it alone. If there is an area I want smoother, I sand that area with sandpaper.

Some things i want to appear smooth with colors and values blending together perfectly so i paint that way. Using the right brushes help. Some things i paint in a "rough" method or "broken color" effect in contrast.

I'll go back and start posting sizes.
Thanks!!!!!
